Serving Restraining Order Papers

Whom may serve restraining order papers? may a family member do so? Because my Girlfriend got a restraining order against me and her Mother served me with them!

Anyone 18 or older that is not a party to the case. Her mother can serve the restraining order and Order to schow cause.
