Legal Question in Family Law in California

settlement question affecting future post divorce?

Hi I have a question about finances and settlements.

I have filed a summary dissolution. We claimed no community property, and are settling finances ourselves.

I want to start my own business.

Most of the work will be post divorce.

My idea came during the marriage.

If I am successful, can my ex come after me to revise the settlement? If so how long is this an issue?

I'd appreciate any information.

Re: settlement question affecting future post divorce?

Pursuant to Family Code Section 2102, each party must exchange written disclosures of investment opportunities presented since the date of separation. Make a proper disclosure and you should be okay.
