Your question needs more information to properly answer: How old is the child? Who is the child most psychologically attached to? This situation sounds like a move away case and will require an office consultation with an attorney skilled in California family law.

It is unlikely that a court would order the child to spend 50% time in Alaska and 50% in California, simply because it would be nearly impossible to craft a schedule that would work, especially if the child is in school or will be any time soon. Six months in one place and six months in another might work from a scheduling stand point for a very young child, but young children need frequent contact with each parent to for proper relationships and bonds with both, so that wouldn't work either. Beyond that, however, Ms. Kock is correct that there is no way to evaluate what a court might order via an internet Q&A.
