Legal Question in Family Law in California
Short Marriage Divorce
I have been married for 7 months (we dated for 6 years). Two months into the marriage my husband decided he wanted out. After 3 months of marriage counseling, he said things would not change. Many of our friends suspect he is cheating. My question is can I get an annument on the grounds that he has been having an affair since before we got married, which means he was never faithful, and did not enter the marriage with good conscious?
Thank you!

Re: Short Marriage Divorce
Having an affair (on its own) is not a basis for obtaining an anullment, however within that there may be another ground used for annulment(i.e.,fraud). I will need to talk to you in detail to find out if you have a basis for obtaining an annulment. You may contact me if you live in Southern CA. You can reach me at 310-839-7700.
