Legal Question in Family Law in California

With a simple divorce with no children, should I get a lawyer or paralegal?

There are no children involved and she made more money than I did while being married for 2 1/2 years. Her grandfather is her lawyer and taking a lot of time to take care of it. I want to buy a new car, but I am afraid that she may be able to take it from me or any of my income. I got a high paying job a month after we broke up. Can she get money from me for the next 6 months?

she may or may not be able to get spousal support but she cannot get the new car so go ahead and buy it.
