Hello my sister doesnt seem capable of taking care of her son, and her boyfriend beats her and is a drug addict, my mother wants to take temporary custody of her son, what steps could she take?

She may wish to notify CPS ( child protective services) if she feels the child faces immediate harm. She should consider filing a petition for guardianship with an emergency ex parte motion for the child's placement in her home.
