Legal Question in Family Law in California

Sleeping with mom

My son is 7 and his mom and I share 50/50 custody. 50% of the time at my house and 50% with mom. Mom has rented out his room and now he is sleeping in the same room with mom. Mom says they are not sleeping together but my son says they are. I know that this might be completely innocent but it just does not feel right. My son has nothing to loose but mom does. Is their anything I can do legally to stop her from allowing my son to sleep in the same bed as our son on a regular basis? I just feel that my son needs his own room, space, and most importantly his own bed. If it were he was a daughter and sleeping with--name removed--their would not even be a blink and his mom would have--name removed--in court.

Re: Sleeping with mom

In a perfect world the 7-year-old should have his own bed. You might try discussing the possibility of putting another bed in mom's room. Offer to pay for the bed. Obviously it can't go on much longer. Talk to mom about her long term plans. Sounds like she's doing what she can to make ends meet. Talk to her about solutions, don't argue about what would happen to you if the tables were turned. Stay focused on helping her help your son get his own bed.
