Legal Question in Family Law in California

social worker is trying to take my brothers

Here is my situation. My mother left the country in November of 07. And she can not come back. The schools have learned that there is no parent at the household and that I am the only adult living there. I am 22 and have an excellent job that covers all the bills rent and more. MY question is can they take my brothers away from me just because my mother is not at the house. They have great grades in school, great attendence. They are always well fed. And i always keep them well dressed. Can they take them away if there is no evidence on neglect or abuse? Any advice or info would greatly help. Thank you

Re: social worker is trying to take my brothers

why don't you become their legal guardians?

if there is no abuse or neglect, then there probably won't be a problem.

since you don't have any legal rights over your siblings, there is an issue. how do they get medical care? who signs on thier behalf? you need to become their legal guardian right away.
