Legal Question in Family Law in California

Sole custody

I have a daughter that is 7 yrs. Her dad has never signed the paperwork given to reconize him as the father. Do I already have sole custody of my daughter or is there paperwork I have to file within the court for 100% custody of my daughter?

Re: Sole custody

Unless he has some evidence that he is the father, then you are the only person that has custody. Going to court to establish paternity may result in his requesting custodial and visitation rights. Not establishing paternity may result in problems if he suddenly decides to become involved in her life. Discussing the facts with an attorney should help clarify the options and help you make a decision.
