Legal Question in Family Law in California

Is it possible to have my son taken out of my custody?

In the last year i lost my job, apartment and car, i asked my ex to take care of our son while i got things together. In that short period of time he had him 4wks, he went to court behind my back trying to get full custody, claiming i was on drugs and i was suicidal.I took drug test willingly, and came back neg.Went to mediation and the mediator was not impartial at all, very confrintational, called me a liar, about why i lost my job, and basically i fealt as though i had to defend my right to have my child in my care like he has been since birth.I have had majority custody all along, and in only the last 9months he has taken interest in him. The mediator is sudguesting that my ex be given 91%custody, he claims my mental health is questionable as well as my being stable, I have always done whats in my sons best interest...Because i told him that i take anti-deprecents, {like half the world} he says my mental health is questionable...Im wondering what the law says about taking a child away from a mother? I am not un-stable, and i take anti-depressents to help me. He has no backing for his suggestions, and i just want to know is it possible because my ex has a lawyer and i do not that he could just take my son? He also said no overnights.

Re: Is it possible to have my son taken out of my custody?

Your question is too complex and too important to request an answer over the internet. You face a real possibility of losing your son. An attorney with experience in custody cases can greatly increase your possibility of success.
