Legal Question in Family Law in California

My son and his girlfriend have temporarily lost custody to my granddaughter through a cps action, she now resides with her maternal grandmother ,My ex-wife the grandmother will not allow me any contact with this child.Do I under California state law have any rights to be allowed contact to her? I reside in NY.How would I go about resolving this from my location?

Grandparents have no legal rights in CA.
