Legal Question in Family Law in California

My son married a Chinese girl when he was in China. They are living in California, he is abusive and currently in jail for domestic abuse. To get a divorce, would she need to return to China or would it be possible to get a divorce here. There is a 3 year old child.

She can get a divorce in California court if they have been living here for more than 6 months.
