Legal Question in Family Law in California
My son is in special education and I will be paying child support until he is 22 years old, or until he graduates highschool or drops out. He turns 18 next month and now has been expelled from school and has been in and out of jail, I don't think he will return to school at this point, the mom told me he was suspended, if she is lying how do I stop child support.

There is no way to answer the question without a review of the current order. If you will call my office and fax me a copy of your child support order I can give you a free telephone consultation and advise your what needs to be done. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
McCrary is trying to suck you in. You may need an attorney, but don't go to one who refuses to answer a simple question. What you do is file a motion to terminate support under the terms of the existing order, that you only pay while he is in school. You can try to do that yourself, with the help of the Family Law Facilitator in your local court, or you can hire an attorney. Just find one who is a straight-shooter.
