Legal Question in Family Law in California

My son is thirteen years old and is refusing to go to his court ordered visits with his father. During his last visit they had a dispute resulting in my son being kicked out his father's house. I think that my son is just needing some time to get over what seems to be a tramatic ordeal. I have both legal and physical custody but his father has a court visitation of every other weekend. My question is how much trouble could I be in if I let my child miss one or two visits? Can I possibly lose my current custody which has been in place for 11years?

This is common with teenagers, you won't lose custody, what you need to do is seek a change in visitation based upon changed circumstances, that your son is a teenager and can now testify for himself why he does not wish to see his father. The law favors continuing contact with both parents but can't force any child to spend time with any parent. Kids grow up, teens want to hang out with their teen friends not their parents, the Family Court Services people understand this. They have kids too.
