Legal Question in Family Law in California
when his son turned 18 a year and a half ago and his ex wife seems to think that my husband is required to pay half of his expenses just because he has asbergers. My husbands attorney says he is done regardless of what she thinks and that he has full filled his parental obligations when he turned 18. His son lives with his mom, and we have not heard from him or seen him since Christmas this past year. She claims him on her taxes as a dependant. There was no amendment done to the decree before he turned 18 requiring my husband to continue medical. I just want piece of mind knowing that he is completely done with any medical responsibilities and that his son is now responsible for himself financially. His son has a job, goes to college part time and volunteers. Can she do anything to make him pay for anymore expenses?

No. If he goes on public assistance at any point, they might have a case for reimbursement, though even that is rare. She has no right to payments at all.
