Legal Question in Family Law in California
Asking for my son. He and his wife have decided to divorce after 4 years of marriage. They do not own real estate or have children together. My son makes the majority of their income. Approx. how much of his pay and for how long will he be required to pay spousal support?

It is impossible to even begin to guess at how much support would be ordered without reviewing the couple's income and expense reports and looking at their present income and spending patterns. As for how long, for a four year marriage, absent unusual circumstances, it would be capped at two years.
