Legal Question in Family Law in California

My son's father and I have joint legal custody, his father has primary physical custody. He has recently moved to another house that is still I think in the same city, but he hasn't informed me of them moving or has made any attempt to contact me about anything going on with our son. I don't know what I can do about this. He tries any way possible to limit contact or communication between me and my son already. I don't know what I should file or how I should go about letting the courts know that he isn't being fair. He also makes his own rules that are not even in our visitation orders. I don't know what I can do about any of the things he is doing besides making the court aware.

I suggest that you review all of your prior orders, your judgment, and your mediation agreements/reports. It's highly likely that there is already an order requiring both of you to keep the other informed of your current address and telephone number.

If there isn't already an order, you should consider filing a motion to modify visitation and other orders requiring him to provide you with an address. Additionally, you can ask the Court to order telephone contact at 7 p.m. every evening and other such specific orders so that the father has less control over you and the schedule.

Good luck!
