My sons mom tried to get child support but she doesn't have custody. What happens?

Do you have the custody of the child? She can have the custody of the child and if she got the custody you need to pay her the child support. All this has to go through the court. If she files then she would have to show documents stating she is the legal guardian/custodial parent of the child.
