Legal Question in Family Law in California

spousal suport

I am female, married 25 years property and divorce finalized Sept. 1997. We kept spousal support open until May 2002, after this date we agreed on waiving spousal support forever for both parties. Neither one receives support at this time. My ex was laid off he has a degree in Aeronautical Engineering, Master degree Business. I support two adult children who are full time college students. I pay half their college costs, room & board. They have part time jobs to pay for the other half and their car, insurance, etc.and expenses. Their father to date has given no financial support for college. What are the chances he could get spousal support for these 8 months? I have a HS education but have a good paying job as an analyst.

Re: spousal suport

The determination of spousal support involves more than income ratios. The assets of the unemployed spouse are also considered. To determine the probability that he will be awarded spousal support you should discuss all of the facts of your case with an attorney.
