spousal support

I have been advised by friends, if my husband and I stay married for 10 years, and I am unemployed for the last 7 years, will he if we divorce, have to pay me spousal for the rest of my life

Your friends have given you bits and pieces of the law that add up to very poor advice. There are many issues that determine spousal support, the amount and duration. The judge will give you a warning that you must work toward becoming self supporting. If you want good advice, talk to a family law attorney. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
