Legal Question in Family Law in California

Spousal Support Arrears

I live is California. I am making past spousal support payments (arrears) by a wage assignment. The previous court order was terminated for the new order specifying the lump sum I now owe. She renaried terminating the old order, but I owe her for time prior to the termination. Under Ca. law, does the provision of Fam Code 4337 apply to the amount I still owe her if she dies before it's paid in full. Do I still pay or have to owe her the balance?

Re: Spousal Support Arrears

Spousal Support arrears are a debt just as any other judgment. Spousal support arrears cannot be discharged in bankruptcy.
