Legal Question in Family Law in California

Spousal Support

My divorce paperwork was completed by a military attorney. I'm paying spousal support and they put verbage saying the court's jurisdiction over spousal support is terminated. However, they never explained that to me or what it meant. My ex is now making a lot more money and has a live in boyfriend who is helping w/ the bills. Is there any way I can have the alimony stopped/reduced based on these grounds or the grounds that the attorney never explained the implications of the verbage in the dissolution filing? Thanks.

Re: Spousal Support

Generally the court continues to have jurisdiction if there is currently an order for support. It really depends on the exact language of the order. You may have the right to file a motion to terminate alimony.
