Legal Question in Family Law in California
spousal support
My ex-husband has not been paying spousal support and is arrears for $25,000. I have taken him to court, but he does not show, I put a lien on his account, now he changed banks. I can't afford to live. He thumbs his nose up at the court. I live in California what can I do. I have been using family court attornys that are free. How do I find out where he is working and banking?

Re: spousal support
You can place a lien on real property in each county by recording an abstract of judgment. You can file a contempt which has quasi-criminal sanctions, such as a threat of jail time. Your case would best be handled by an attorney as contempts are difficult to prove. You can set up a free consultation by calling my office and advising its from LawGuru.

I recently taught a seminar in collection of Child Support at the El Cajon court. There are several
options that you have, such as a debtor's exam, in which the court can issue a bench warrant if he does not appear. You may wish to call me. Tell my staff that you got an answer from me on LawGuru and that I offered a free telephone consultation. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
