Legal Question in Family Law in California
spousal support
My husband want to file divorce and leave the country.
He is 67, he has been working for more than 20 years, his income ~ 30K/year , he work for county so he should have pension. I am 58 years old, have not been working at all since I stay home and take care of housework. If we are divorced, does he has to support me and if yes. how much monthly? Thanks

Re: spousal support
In a lengthy marriage, a marriage over 10 years, should result in the payment of spousal support. The amount of spousal support would depend upon the ability of him to pay and your need for spousal support. Also you would have an interest in his retirement. You should consult with an attorney regarding your right to spousal support and a division of the community property. The value of the community property, especially if you own a home could be in the hundreds of thousands.
