Legal Question in Family Law in California

spousal support order before 1990

I heard that Calfornia recently passed a law that allowed the State/DA Family Support Officer to collect spousal support indefinitely. That is, there is no longer a statute of limitations on the collection of spousal support.

When did that occur?

If my spousal support Order was entered before the operative date of new law, is it still governed by the old law? In my case I had a 10 year statute of limitations on spousal support which is expected to expire in 2003. Does it still apply?

Re: spousal support order before 1990

See family code section 4502 (enacted 1993)which says such judgments, including interest, are enforceable until paid.
