Re: spousal support payments

You can file an OSC re: Modification of Spousal Support due to changed circumstances. No longer being employed is a changed circumstance. Although, you cannot quit your job to avoid payment of support. This is a relatively simple motion to file with the court. You should hire a lawyer.

You must file an OSC seeking a modification of the spousal support order. Otherwise, it continues in effect. You can use a parelagal to assist you if you are on a limited budget. You may even qualify to receive spousal support.

We offer paralegal support services as well as litigation services. You will find some valuable information on various family law issues including spousal support at my web site.
