Legal Question in Family Law in California

spousal support

can my ex stop spousal support? i was married 18 years, he broke many of my bones and abused me in many ways, i suffer PTSD, and yet i go to college full time so one day i won't need his help. i followed all the courts orders, and he has not. i live with my mom, and he has already remarried and makes over $65.00 per hour. I receive about $700. a month, but my body and mind will never be the same. I don't have a replacement I don't have any other support at this time. I have been harrassed by him and his wife, threatened and intimidated and I feel afraid of them. I have a scholarship and grant, and student loans totalling over 16,000. already. I am earning my BSCJA and wish to become an Attorney. I have a long way to go, and need advice. I just want them to stop harassing me, and let me try to live the remainder of my divorced life in peace.

Re: spousal support

to stop the harassment, file a restraining order. you should continue to get your spousal support for about 9 years or longer.
