Legal Question in Family Law in California
Spousal Support
I am supposed to receive Spousal Support as indicated in our Dissolution Agreement. My ex, however does not pay me the full
amount and he does not pay on
time. This fact causes great financial distress as you can imagine. How can I address this matter legally? Can I Assign Income (his?). Can I file for contempt of court? please advise.
I am 66, have medical issues, and
am having trouble finding employment after 23 years out of the job market.
Thank you for your consideration.

Re: Spousal Support
Yes there are many remedies available to you! Filing for contempt for the most part does not get you money. I use it as a last resort. I am an attorney and have been enforcing support orders for over 16 years. I need to know more details, such as where order made, how much, what does your ex do, any assets, etc.
