Legal Question in Family Law in California

Spousal Support/Proving Residence

My ex is currently residing with her boyfriend collecting full spousal support. I plan to hire a PI to document her staying at his residence, but would also like to prove her mailing address at this residence. I already have one piece of correspondence with this address on it... any suggestions as to acquire further pieces of mail, without breaking the law?

A licensed private investor working in conjunction with an attorney should be your best plan for modifying spousal support.

good luck.

It would seem to me that you could subpoena bank statements, tax returns, etc., and see the address on them. If she has changed her address to reflect her boyfriend's address, then you can get documents without trying to "steal" her mail. Subpoena utility bills, bank statements, tax returns, and any other document that would pertain to modification of spousal support. Work records, too, might show her new address. Request her pay stubs.
