Legal Question in Family Law in California

Spouse is fully responsible for all debt created

After agreeing to get an divorce, my spouse lost his job, and now creating lots of debt.

Would a statement like ''All debt incurred by [spouse], I will be responsible for.'' in the divorce document, along with the spouses approval and signature, be enough to legally dismiss my responsiblity to the debt created?

Please advise.

Reply: Spouse is fully responsible for all debt created

In a general sense, that may be binding upon the spouse, but may not be binding upon a creditor.

For a specific opinion regarding your individual circumstances, I suggest that you consult with an experienced family law lawyer. Experience is not expensive, it's priceless!
