Legal Question in Family Law in California

spouse wants to put me and kids out of ''his'' house

My husband and our 3 small children have lived in a house owned by his relatives since 1996 when we got married. The house is already paid for. It was put in my husband's name 3 years ago. I have paid the majority of the property taxes over the last 8 years since he is chronically unemployed. Now we are having problems and he wants to put me and our kids out of what he says is ''his'' house. I am considering a legal sepaaration. What rights do I have to the house? Can he put me and the kids out?
