Legal Question in Family Law in California

Spouse's Belongings

My husband moved out eight months ago. I just had him served the divorce paperwork a few days ago. Since he moved out he has not picked up his belongings. I keep asking him to get his stuff out of the garage but he makes excuses why he can't pick it up or he just ignores my requests. When can I legally take his stuff to Goodwill?

Re: Spouse's Belongings

You will have to go to court and get an order that the property be removed by a certain time or it can be disposed of at goodwill etch. If you dispose of the property without either his consent or a court order you could be held liable for the value of the property.
