Legal Question in Family Law in California

Regarding stalking

My ex husband has been stalking me for over a year. I have finally been able to get a restraing order. I have enough documentation that the officer just informed me that they will be arresting him today for stalking. Question: How long can they keep him on a first offense? Do I have to go to court and face him? What happens with the child support payment he still owes from 2/20?

thanks

Re: Regarding stalking

After his arrest it is probable that the bail will be high. Contact the district attorney's office and explain your fears, and if necessary appear in court and request that he be held without bail. The child support that has accrued will be due until he pays it. Unless he requests a court order reducing child support it will continue to accrue at the current rate. Should he ask to reduce child support, point out to the court that he is unemployed because he was stalking you.
