Legal Question in Family Law in California

I started divorce proceddings in 2000. I never followed through and received a final decree. What do I have to do now to finalize it.

In answering this, I assume that you mean that you never followed through, and never received a final decree. You need to check the status of the divorce filing with the court, to determine whether it is active and pending, or was dismissed for failure to prosecute.

If it was dismissed, you are going to have to refile, as I assume that too much time has passed to set aside the dismissal.

It will not likely have been dismissed, but there is no way to answer your question without knowing what was and wasn't done in the past, in detail.
