DOES THE STATE OF CA PAY ALOMONY and how long does it take to divorce and also how much does it cost

do i get half of 401 if so how soon do i get it

Yes, alimony may be awarded in California divorce cases. It takes 6 months from the filing of a petition for dissolution of marriage before a judgment of divorce can be entered by the court. Court fees are fixed, but the legal costs associated with a divorce vary greatly depending on attorneys' hourly billing rates and the extent to which issues are contested by the parties. I don't understand what your question is with respect to "401."

The State of California does NOT pay alimony. Only husbands and sometimes wives pay alimony, and not in California. California has a system of spousal support, family support and child support, which operate under rules that are in some ways similar, but in many ways different from alimony.

As for "half of 401" I assume you mean a 401k account. There is no way to tell if you get half or less because you haven't given us any information about the account, how it was funded and when, and what appreication or loss it has had.
