Legal Question in Family Law in California
two state divorce
I was married in Texas 8-2002. Moved to CA. Husband filed for divorce in CA. I moved back to TX. Can I have the proceedings moved to TX since I now live here?

NOW, IN RESPONSE TO YOUR INQUIRY --
Assuming that your husband continues to reside in CA, probably not, unless your husband agrees to a change of jurisdiction and/or dismisses his CA case, thus allowing you to file in TX.
Thanks for sharing your interesting inquiry, and good luck with your case.

If your husband lived in Californhia for six months before filing, and if you have already been served with the California divorce papers, it is probably too late to haver it transfderred from California to Texas. If you have not been served yet, you may be able to file in Texas and get him served first.
Good luck to you!

You will only be able to file here in TExas if you have been a resident for the past 6 months. Question will be if you gave up your residence when you moved to CA. Most likely, you are stuck in CA.
