Which state to be married in?

Does each state have different laws that affect marriage and property? What are they?

Each state's laws are different in relation to how things are handled in the event of divorce. In order to determine how all 50 states differ, it would require a great deal of research and you may need to consult with 50 different attorneys who are each licensed to practice in their own states. I'm only licensed in Utah and California and so I can't advise you on what the laws are in the other 48 states.
