Legal Question in Family Law in California

A Statement of Beneficiaries Document was lost by a timeshare company. We were told to resubmit documents. We cannot due to stepmother who does'nt speak to us. She would sell it. We paid dues up till now, our check was returned, because we are not owners. This happened in 2006. Is it against the law to loose timely documents? The timeshare was a inheritence.

There is no criminal conduct in losing a document. You may have a cause of action against the timeshare company. If seems unusual that there is not a copy of the statement of beneficiaries. Consult with an attorney quickly to commence an action to protect yourself.
