Legal Question in Family Law in California

Is there a statute of limitations to file for retirement entitlement (resulting from divorce) in the state of California. This issue was misrepresented during the divorce in 1988. 17 years of marriage, put husband through college and 3 children. If it is possible to file for a fair portion of former spouse's retirement I will need representation in California as that is his place of residence and also where the divorce took place.

If the retirement was a community asset which existed at the time of the dissolution, and was not dealt with judgment, you may still have a interest in your former spouses retirement, which may now be enforced using a Qualified Domestic Relations Order.
