Legal Question in Family Law in California

Statute of Limitations on Quit Claim Aware

My divorce was final in 1990. I was awarded $25,000.00 as final settlement in the divorce (guaranteed with a Quit Claim (on our home that my ex subsequently let go into foreclosure)). Our son is now 15 and I am just finalizing $65K in arrears (including interest) on child suport and in the process of modifying the original $347/mo support (my ex is a self-employed C.P.A.!!!)..I only recently (last year) persued the back support, because my ex would have cut contact with his son, however, my son is now at an age that he has figured out what a ''great'' guy his dad is. My question is this: Can I, 14 plus years after the martial settlement, sue him for the $20,000.00? Is there a statute of limitations on this type of debt? Oh, by the way, I was right, ever since I sued him for the back support he hasn't spoken with his son. Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Did you recover any equity when the home went to foreclosure? Enforcing the judgment would be the option not a new suit. Call me directly at (619) 222-3504.
