Legal Question in Family Law in California
statutory rape/child support
in '92 a 17 yr old boy is seduced, tricked, and forced to have intercourse by a 20 yr. old woman. in '92 statutory rape with the male as a victim was unheard of. therefore it wasn't reported. that's still a crime even though it wasn't reported right? a yr later he's served w/ child support. still in high school can't afford representation. a girl gets raped she has option to abort or give up adoption. doesn't a boy victim have the same options? i understand she caries for 9 mos. but the boy has to pay for life. is this justice that a women can rape a boy have the baby and get child support from him. what about the boy, does have to pay to be a victim? and w/ state taking half pay checks the boy had to stop education to get full time job.etc.etc. facts are she was 20 he was 17 when concieved, that's a crime, the outcome of the crime is a baby. why does the boy have to pay child support?

Re: statutory rape/child support
I believe the idea is that it is not the child's fault and the child needs to be supported. The issue between the mother and father is separate.
