A status hearing is the way the court keeps track of the case. At the hearing the judge may set the matter for a settlement conference or for trial. You can ask for a change in the mediation agreement, however, many times that is like trying to "unring the bell". You should figure some way to hire an attorney, you are in a very great disadvantage in court. Particularly considering what you want to accomplish. Good Luck, Pat McCrary
