Step Childrens Rights in California

I am the only surviving biological daughter and my father married a woman who has 5 children one who is handicapped and lived with him and his new wife. My father and his wife have both passed away but my father has some money coming from an asbestos law suit. Would the step child be entitled to any of this money?

If he has a trust or will that controls. If he doesn't, step children do not inherit under California's laws of intestacy.
