Legal Question in Family Law in California
What if my stepdaughter has a baby?
We just found out that my husbands daughter who is 16 now has a baby which is about 2. Does this affect our child support payments to his ex-wife? Can she be considered an adult? I have gotten so many different answers I am not sure which is right. So if anyone knows about this please answer back!! Thanks a million!!

Re: What if my stepdaughter has a baby?
This is an area of the law that is seldom seen by many attorneys. As I understand the law he would be required to pay child support for his daughter, but would not be required to pay support for the grandchild. The daughter is considered to be an adult only for the purpose of making decisions regarding her child.
