Want's stepfather to adopt her

My daughter is 12 live's with myself(mother) and (Stepfather). I have sol physcal custody and Joint legal custody with my exhusband. My daughter has asked her (stepfather) to adopt her but we don''t know if she can be adopted by stepfather or not.Daughter said that she will talk to judge. Don't know if this can be done or not please help.

A step parent may adopt a stepchild. However, prior to the adoption the non custodial parent's parental rights must be terminated. That can be done by either a written relinquishment or a court order. It is unlikely that you can have father's parental rights terminated if he is paying support and visiting the child.
