Legal Question in Family Law in California

My stepfather adopted me when I was 2 and divorced my mother when I was 9. We have no contact although I know where he lives. My mother and my bio father are both dead. It's very painful to have my step-father's name still on my birth certificate when he's been very clear that I'm not his daughter. How can I nullify the adoption? (This was in California in 1964).

Your stepfather became your legal father when he adopted you, for all intents and purposes. You can't nullify a valid adoption.
