Step-Parent Adoption

I have a 9 year old daughter who has not seen her biological father in more than 8 years. Is there any bennifit in having my husband adopt her? He has been her ''dad'' forever and we have two other children. Would starting the adoption process open a door for trouble?

There is more benefit to your daughter in being adopted than not.
