Legal Question in Family Law in California

Stepparent Rights

I am a stepmother to my husband's 3 year old daughter. His ex wife continuously harrasses him about their daughter spending time with me while he is at work. We can't afford day care and his ex refuses to let their daughter to attend school. They have even joint physical and legal custody. I would like to know if other than adoption and visitation after divorce if a stepparent has any rights at all in regards to their marriage or stepchildren and if they and the children of the current marriage are taken into account when issues are brought forth concerning the child of the previous marriage. We have a very healthy household and his ex is also remarried and has another child.

Re: Stepparent Rights

As a stepparent you have no rights but your husband has every right to allow the child to spend time with you during his visitation time.
