Legal Question in Family Law in California

In a stipulation by the california county of san joaquin superior court at the bottom of a or of approval pursuant to rule 259 (d) CA. Rules of court it says below the word consent that:

I do hereby consent and agree to act as temporary judge in the above-entitled action. Dated in Advance for all cases.

Dated: Commissioner signature

WHAT DOES THE TERM DATED IN ADVANCE MEAN?

Does it mean they are allowed to BACKDATE THIS FORM? Or that they scribed and dated the form prior to the litigants obtaining a copy? Or what does the term

"DATED IN ADVANCE FOR ALL CASES" ACTUALLY MEAN???????

That is for the Commissioner, not you. It means the Commissioner has agreed to serve as a temporary judge for all cases assigned to him or her in advance. Since that's a major part of their job, this should come as no surprise. The reason the form has the space for a more specific date is that Commissioners are not the only ones who serve as temporary judges. I serve in Santa Clara County to supervise settlement conferences, as a volunteer, and occasionally for trials and other proceedings by agreement of the parties. I have to sign that form for each case.
