Legal Question in Family Law in California

Stopping child support when child is eighteen and a high school graduate

The question is - I have a step child who is 18 and is graduating from high school, the school will not release a copy of the diploma to us, saying the child owns her file. We need a copy of the diploma to prove the child graduated. The child is very angry at father for re-marrying and refuses to give copy of diploma or any thing that would help prove the fathers case.

What do we do? We live in southern California and have only a few weeks prior to our court case.

Thank you for your time.

Kathleen

Subpoena the child to appear in court and ask him if he has graduated from high school.
